Community Forum: Slavery By Another Name- Theater, 2nd floor

Slavery By Another Name tells the history of forced labor on African Americans that occurred in the South for eighty years after Emancipation through World War II.   Participate in a civic discussion on the use of force labor and the criminalization of African Americans in the past and in contemporary times. This forum will include viewing film segments of the documentary Slavery By Another Name and a panel discussion with area scholars.

Community Forum: Slavery By Another Name is funded by CREATED EQUAL: America’s Civil Rights Struggle.  “Created Equal” is part of the Bridging Cultures initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities produced in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to encourage public conversations about the changing meanings of freedom and equality in America.
